The Frank Chapman Centre provides a base for them to stay, excellent instruction and equipment during the day, and all meals are included. Most adult courses run over weekends, although we can organise them at other times when requested.
The courses prove to be particularly popular, and participants often surprise themselves with what they achieve during the activities. They also provide the basis for an excellent social gathering for the weekend, with most groups coming back time after time.
Most participants choose to complete a mixture of outdoor activities during their stay, but if groups wish to focus on certain activities that they have experience of or skills they wish to develop, we can support that as well.
We run adult expeditions – see our Never Too Old for Gold page!
New for this year we have woodland and green woodworking courses running in partnership with David from Woodland Ways.
You will learn how to cleave, weave and use all the tools and techniques required to understand the basics which are the most important elements in being a good woodsman. You will also take home a cleft chestnut gate hurdle of your own making.
The course price is £150 plus VAT with a maximum of 5 people per course.
We have also been used as a base for groups to do their own thing, examples of this are:
- Family or university friend re-unions
- 40th birthday celebrations
- Canoeing and Mountaineering club meets
