Press Release: Mountain Bikes at the Frank Chapman Centre

The Frank Chapman Centre has joined in an exciting partnership with Bewdley Outdoors to bring mountain bikes to the centre.

From June, visiting residential and day groups can opt to have mountain biking as part of their activity programmes giving young people the chance to build safe and exciting bike handling skills in the 90 acre forest.

With a range of tracks the centre is able to help get all children onto a bike and onto a trail weaving through bluebell woods with descents and climbs to suit all.

The partnership with Bewdley Outdoors means that the centre will always have the latest Merida bikes and safety equipment, with experts keeping the bikes in tip top order.

As part of Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council, the centre is excited that the new activity coincides with the opening of a bike track in Jubilee Woods, Sandwell Valley Country Park and it is hoped that the coaching and training the children receive will give them the confidence to get on their bikes and give it a go!

Head of Centre Stuart Meese said, ‘It is really exciting to add mountain bikes to the new range of activities here at the centre – the grounds are perfect for building skills and it is a fab, healthy sport for young people to do.’
