Sandwell Residential Educational Service is recruiting for  an Instructor – Level 2 at Frank Chapman Outdoor Education Centre in Bewdley, Worcestershire who is capable of working at APIOL level delivering adventurous and educational outdoor learning.

Egner-Photography-Frank Chapman-IMG_0843The 130 bed centre, founded in 1928 is set in 90 acres of semi ancient oak woodland in the Wyre forest bordering the river Severn with a range of adventurous, environmental and curriculum based outdoor learning activities. We service a diverse client base with both residential and day visit programmes.

We hold the AHOEC Gold, CLOtC Quality badge and AdventureMark award and work with our sister centres in Edgmond Hall, Ingestre House and Play Gwynant to provide for the needs of Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council.

Instructor Level 2   1.0 FTE (1 year Fixed term post)
SRES 6-8 £20080 – £23881 p.a.

Essential: Higher/Further Education qualification or equivalent. 3 years work experience in Outdoor Learning / Education.

  • BCU/UKCC Level 1
  • CWA or higher

and to have gained (or be working towards within) at least two of the following:

  • BCU/UKCC Level 2 (1 Year)
  • HML or higher (6 months)
  • GB Archery Instructor (1 Year)
  • IOL Foundation Bushcraft (1 Year)
  • APIOL (1 Year)

Woodland and /or environmental management or other equivalent qualifications are also desirable as is a Full driving licence with the ability to gain D1 + E (within 6 months). An enhanced DBS clearance is required for this role
